  • Hi I am new...

    Hi! I am new here! I quit smoking a year ago and have gained a lot of weight! All my fault I gave myself permission to eat whatever I wanted while I tackled my addiction to cigarettes! A year later...now I am ready to start to lose it! I have always been over weight anyway...so it's not all due to quitting smoking! I have been on diets my whole life. Thus, I have been a size 0 and the biggest I have ever have been is right now- a size 28/ 30! I have a lot to lose but I am a patient person. If it takes me a year or more...so be it! I haven't been on a scale for over a year so I don't know what I weigh. I do not like to weigh myself often because I suffer from eating disorders. And the # on the scale freaks me out. Thanks for having me. I have to get the book and read it...then I will start. I have always loved meat and veggies versus sugar and carbs..with the exception of after I quit smoking. I am over the constant want for sugar now. This appears to be the lifestyle for me. Thanks!

    Hi, Grammie, and welcome! Hey, you quit smoking ... that's not easy; good for you! Well, you've come to the right place. Check in often. Read other posts. Ask questions. Join in the challenges, if you can ... it really helps you stay on track!

      Thanks!! I know that the quit smoking forum helped me out a lot! I'm sure this will help too! Thanks for welcoming me! I think I will get the book and read it first...then start Monday! Quitting smoking was very hard yes! This will be a different type of thing since I can't give up eating entirely!

        I quit smoking almost three years ago. and i said the same thing to myself. deal with the addiction than deal with the weight. i am here too so.....

        you can do it. get the knowledge than put it into action. try new vegetables, new flavours and recipes. i use a lot o lindas low carb recipes to keep variety in my daily plate.

        i am new myself and i have received alot of motivation from the beore and after photos as well.

          Hi! Thanks for the welcome! I just got back from walmart and found that they don't have the atkin's book! I was so disappointed! That's what I went for and to buy foods that are in the diet...but no go! I ended up spending $80.00 anyway! LOL! Anyway! Thanks...I will try to find a book before Monday...so I can start then!
