this is it very strict and never break any rules, can you guys have a look and maybe leave a comment if you notice anything wrong, i stopped drinking so it would speed up te weight loss, kinda wanted to lose a fair bit during induction to give incentive for carrying on

    here is progress

Started Atkins on Tuesday as stated at 14.5 stones

    wedsnday weighed 14.4 stones

    thursday, still 14,4 stones

check below on other posts for update

(will update so check back here to monitor if you like)

kind of worried about not losing anymore (know taks time to adjust) but im working so hard with no wine and the exercise that one would expect a steady loss of fat. and bought some Ketostick to see if ketosis is present and turning mid purpley colour which is (meduim) and middle of the colour chart so seems to be some there

what do you guys think, should i expect big weight loss like this

plus whats the view on olives and cheese should be having?
and, having very little carbs under 20 g anyway ,should have more?
what about the fat on bacon, should take off?
what about the times of exercise and eating and breaks inbetween any good?
about 2 litres per day sometimes 3 enough water?

    thanks

Lots of stuff in there. You are really pushing hard. Congratulations on doing all those changes. It will pay off for sure - just give it a bit of time

Don't forget to give your body rest days.

Because you are working out so hard you will likely see some muscle build up and while you ARE losing fat the weight will not really go down much because muscle is heavier. But you will look great.

Menu was pretty good. I worried a bit about all that processed stuff - it usually have fillers, tons of salt and nitrites. Try to replace it with whole food - that is cleaner.

Spread out your veggies somewhat - and try to eat veggies that are more substantial than lettuce sometimes. (I have heard Italians love sauteed veggies-peppers, mushrooms, onions, zucchini)
You can eat cheese but only a few ounces a day - so watch it.
I would not go overboard with olives either - but some a day is fine.

Drink plenty of water - you are working out a lot so you'll need it. Minimum 2 litres.

Keep it up. I am in awe here. And want to hear how things turn out.

      Hi, AntonioColt

      Welcome to ADBB!

Liv has given you some excellent advice. She really knows her stuff!

The only thing I might add, is to make sure that you read the book so you can follow the plan exactly as outlined, for that has been the key to success for me. Also, check out this link if you haven't seen it yet: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-new-read.html

The book goes into great detail about which foods are allowed, and in what quantities. For example, there is a limit of 3 to 4 ounces of cheese per day (that's not a whole lot, when accurately measured). Also, olives are a "special category" food, and are limited to 10 to 20 per day. Dr. Atkins states, though, to be aware that special category foods occasionally slow down weight loss in some people, and may need to be avoided or moderated. We are all different, so you will need to observe how they affect you.

Watched those processed foods (bacon, sausage, ham and pepperoni).

And make sure to eat your veggies!

      Good luck.

You don't necessarily need to cut out sausage and bacon. The reason we say to watch them, is because they contain nitrites/nitrates (which aren't good for you) and because they usually have a high amount of sodium (which can make you retain water). A lot of sausage and bacon also contains some form of sugar. You need to become an expert label reader! You can find sugar in the strangest places. And don't just look at the number of carbs on the label... you need to look at the actual ingredients.

Cutting back on cheese and olives is certainly an option if you feel that they affect you negatively. However, if I read your introduction correctly, you have only been on Atkins since Tuesday. You haven't had enough time to see if they affect you yet, or not. I wouldn't weigh everyday... it would drive me nuts. I weighed once a week. And please, don't expect that you are going to always lose the same amount of weight each week, even if you eat exactly the same way. It would be nice if weight came off that way, but it doesn't. Don't get in too much of a hurry. I will be the first one to admit that doing Atkins correctly takes effort - but the payoff is worth it.

Make sure to visit the other forums on this board, and read the "stickies" at the top of each one. I hope that you're spending some time in the Induction forum, and asking questions there when you need to. Also, I included a link to the "Review My Menu" forum in the sticky I directed you to earlier. You'll get some help there, too.

Also, I think that you would benefit from starting a journal... we have a Journal Chat forum (where others can reply to your posts), or a Journal Stats forum (where you are the only one who posts). Check them out, and see which of them you prefer (I have one of each).

forgot to mention, been doing ketostix tests out of curiosity, first one on day 2 of diet was mid range dark pink which was showing as medium traces, the next day was a bit lighter and today its more or less pale beige which means nothing is showing, but there is small dotting colouration of a pinkish shade of colour on the tabs so there is still a very small trace,

could this be something doing wrong or nothing to go by?

Well, I don't use the Ketostix, as there are different things that can affect the results (time of day, amount of water consumed, exercise, etc.) I don't bother with them. As long as I am following plan correctly, I don't worry about it.

From what I understand, though, you're either in ketosis or you're not. Meaning, it doesn't matter what color the stix turn, as long as they turn. I can't comment on the small dotting of coloration... I just don't know. While there are many who use them, I wouldn't get too hung up on the stix.

need to ask, can you eat a half of crab in shell, sometimes this isnt pure crab meat, or at least doesnt look lik eit, if you know what i mean its sort of half white half brown, i think they call it a dressed crab from shell, if anyone could let us know as want to eat for luccn at gym

ALSO CAN I DRINK NON ALCOHOLIC WINE, most of them are 0.2 % and some are even 0, what you think i should try?

                sat 14.1
(know i shouldnt weigh each day, but im curious as to how the body loses weight and to learn my own pattern i think might help to understand a bit about ourselves)

remember that 1lb of fat = size of a softball and 1 lb of muscle = size of a golf ball (for comparison only)

you can not lose any weight on the scale but because you are working out and building muscle you can lose sizes

200 lbs of fat is a lot bigger than 200 lbs of muscle... so dont just go by the scale

Sugarsack is right - you need to measure as well as weigh, especially if you are doing all that exercise! If you dont want to measurr then find a pair of really tight trousers and a skinny shirt and keep trying them on to see if they are getting larger on you as your body loses fat and gains muscle.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
