Hi Everyone!
My name is Tracy and I just found this site today while browsing around at The Low Carb Cafe . I found their site a few days ago and decided to start on their six-week, low-carb challenge starting October 1st. I am very excited to have found you guys and am inspired by many of the stories and photos I have seen here.
I am already a STAC member. Yes, I have done Atkins before! Weightloss is my achilles heal. I have struggled with it most of my life. Had the most success I have ever had on a weightloss program with Atkins back in 1982 when I was 20. Lost 30 pounds in 3 months. Moved to Germany and promptly went off the plan. Have "tried" it a few times since without great dedication or success. But I know my body responds best to low-carb and it is something I can do with my husband, so, I am back at it! And happy to have found this awesome online support group!
I posted some information about myself in my profile, but here is most of that, again, for those of you who don't go there to read it.
I live in Beaverton, Oregon, a suburb of Portland, with my husband and soulmate of 11 years, Jeff. I have raised 3 wonderful children of my own
as well as Jeff's 3 kids who are all now fabulous young adults. And I recently became a Grandma! So, that's really exciting!
Hubby and I are self employed. We own a software development company, so we are blessed with pretty much total time freedom, which is a mixed blessing! I love the flexibility it offers me, but I also miss the social interaction of being out face-to-face with people. So, we have also recently gotten into the Healthy Chocolate Business and we are having a BLAST with that!
I love people (all kinds, colors, shapes and sizes!), animals, plants, books, music, international travel, art, spirituality, women's issues, cooking, baking, wine, chocolate, etc.
I am really looking forward to getting to know each of you personally and admire what you are doing to improve your fitness and lives. I am not fully committing to Atkins until next week when I can go grocery shopping to restock the house. Until then, I am simply trying to eat smart and keep my refined carb consumption to a minimum. Will start Induction once I have the kitchen ready to go!
Blessings to all,
~tracy
