    HI All! Just joined so wanted to stop by and drop a hello!

    I was on the atkins diet about 6 years ago - lost 35 pounds to reach my goal of 140....since that time have had baby number 4 so here I am again - this time I have 40 pounds to drop and since I had such a great success the first time around thought this would be the one to do...

    What prompted me on this journey was this week I was printing out some of the pictures from our vacation - and yes it was to the beach- and I nearly died when I say myself in the pictures! I knew I had gained but in my minds eye I still viewed myself as I was 40 pounds lighter! So needless to say it was a very rude awakening!

    Looking forward to learning from all of you as I start on this journey..

    1st mini goal- 170(met 09/29/0
    2nd mini goal- 160 (halfway) reward MASSAGE!!
    3rd mini goal- 150 (almost there)
    4th and final- 140- made it!!

      You've come to the right place for information and motivation. You're going to do great this time around! I think the STAC forum is a wonderful place to hang out - those folks have been in the same shoes as you, and are a great support.

        Welcome to the Board!

        Some advice:

        1. Read the book and follow it religously (DANDR 2002 edition)
        2. Read food ingredient labels for corn syrup, sugar, and dextrose
        3. Try 65% fat 30% protien and %5 carbs
        4. Get FitDay and log your food and exercise
        5. Drink at least half your body weight in ounces of water daily.

            Welcome, Bayoumom. I know that feeling of horror after seeing myself in pictures, especially in a bathing suit. For the time being I'm swimming in shorts and a shirt because my bathing suits no longer fit and I refuse to buy a bigger size! Photos can be great motivators!
