Hi, I am anticipating my start date in 3 days and this is my third time doing atkins. I quit atkins the first time because I got married (and comfortable) had 2 babies in 3 years and quit smoking therefore I gained like 65 lbs. The 2nd time was just a few months ago, I was doing so well then we went on vacation...it does make it harder when you have a spouse who is overweight and not committed and 5 kids who are carb addicts as well. I feel like I have learned from my mistakes, but at the same time I think I'm afraid to fail a third time. And I'm also anxious about going through induction again because I get really tired and just feel wiped out for like a week, but I guess it is worth it. I just feel so bad about the way I look. And I also just feel like crap and very sluggish all the time and I know it is because of the way I eat and not exercising. I really need to succeed this time, for not only myself, but my family as well. If anyone has a few words of encouragement I would appreciate it. I am 35 and want to lose 81 lbs.

Re: 3rd time around-anxious
Welcome, momof5. I know how you feel about failing because I've had that fear too. But once I got the mindset that simple carbs are bad for every aspect of my life, that they have made me miserable for far too long, that I don't really want or need them anymore and made the decision to watch what I eat for the rest of my life, not just for a few weeks or months, then this woe got a lot easier. I'm determined to not allowed those things that I once craved, run my life. I've decided to be more than an overweight dieter and become a person who just watches what they eat.
