  • Hey, I'm new!

    Hi,

    My name's Josh, I'm 23, and I have just recently decided to lose weight. Throughout my life I have realized that I was considered "bigger," but it was never really bothered me, since I've always had a lot of friends, been great at sports, done well in school, and been in commited relationships. When I look at myself in the mirror, I delude myself into believing that the wieght is not important, since I have all these other things going for me. In other words, I am the product of a generation that was taught to be comfortable with their body types, but have taken it to an extreme.

    I am not too familiar with the Atkins diet, but have proceeded ahead with following the basic tenet of "consuming less than 20 carbs a day." I have been reading the forum and have discovered that I am not eating enough veggies, not excersising enough (at all), and am consuming too much (and the wrong type of) diet soda. However, in the 7 days which I have been on the modified aproach, I have lost 11 pounds. I started the diet at 285 pounds and am currently sitting at 274. My goal is to trim down into a leanish 220 pounds.
