  • Another Newbie!! YAY

Well I'm on day 7 and going strong. I'm starting to get a little bored with eggs and bacon in the morning but no biggie, I'm sticking it out. I'm not a big cook and so any receipes are really out for me right now until I get some more free time in my life! I have decided not to weigh myself until I am done with the 2 weeks of induction. I will say however that I have measured and have lost 2 1/4 inches off my waist so I must be doing something right. I haven't noticed a difference in my clothes so I was actually surprised to even see that number but it's exciting to know something is going on. I have done this WOE before but thought of it more as a quick fix and this time I think I'm in it for life. I've come to the realization that my body cannot and will not ever accept the number of carbs I was putting in it before. Lucky for me I just happen to LOVE meat and veggies so this diet is perfect for me and pretty easy to stick to. My downfall is when I get towards the end of my weightloss goal I used to just resume my regular way of eating and skip the rungs....can't do that! So this time I am making a commitment and doing things differently. One thing I've decided to do is really drink lots of water. My goal is 100oz per day which has proven to be pretty easy for me on work days. When I'm off for some reason it's a little tougher but as long as I keep BIG bottles of water around, I'm good!! Just thought I'd introduce myself as I'm sure I'll need your support in the future. So good luck to everyone else out there

Welcome, Robey. There are lots of things other than bacon and eggs you can have for breakfast. How about a nice Spanish Omelette made with cheese, peppers and onion? Or even leftovers from supper the night before or ham wrapped in lettuce leaves? And lots of other things I can't think of right off, but read some of the recipes threads on the board for loads of ideas for every meal.

I did the same thing you did, the first time around. I didn't go through the rungs but I've learned my lesson and am now on rung 7, fruit. It's so much easier for me this time too because I know now that Atkins is the only thing that works so there are no shortcuts.
Congrats on the amount of water you're drinking because that is key to helping your body get rid of the fat and keeping you feeling full as well.
    Keep up the good work.

Thanks for the suggestions on breakfast food I'll have to get a little more creative...To be honest, I'm not the best omelette maker which is why I avoid it. I suppose I've never been shown how to really make one so that's probably my downfall. But I LOVE THEM!! I could eat omelettes all day long..I'll have to start practicing! I'm nervous about getting on the scale even at the end of two weeks but I should just to know whether or not I'm headed in the right direction. I just don't want to be disappointed. Well hopefully you guys made it through the weekend okay..I'm just grilling my chicken know..lemon pepper, my fav (other than bbq!) YUMMY!!
