Hello...I'm Rachel.
I'm 23 years old and live in Reading, Pennsylvania.
I've always been a little over weight since I hit my mid-teen years, and once I had my son back in 2005 it really got bad. All I did was indulge myself in food and not get out and walk. Needless to say I gained a ton of weight and had only lost a little bit of it afterwards. Well now, a little over 3 years later, I'm at my worst. It's even hard to keep after my son.
So, on September 6th my mom and I started the Atkins diet. She had done this a few years ago and lost 90lb. She asked me if I wanted to do it and this time I was serious. So we've only been on it for going on 4 weeks now (we're on day 23), and we've had 3 weigh-ins - ALL which have been successful for me so far. I've lost a total of 24lbs in the three weigh-ins. I've been doing really well I think and I can feel my energy coming back. Once in a while I still have cravings, I LOVE my sweets and snacks, but I pretty much push that aside anymore.
I have a lot of weight I need to lose...I don't even want to share that right now but I'm working on it. I made up these goals for each weigh-in, picked a long-term goal, and I even went as far as making calendars to refer to that keep track of my weight-loss and how many days we've been on the diet so far. I think that has helped a lot.
I could probably go on but I think I've rambled enough.
Thank you for allowing me to join and I hope to get to chat with others that are on the diet. It's nice to give and get support, especially when you're dieting.

My mom actually pushed me to do the diet. She said we are going to do this diet but you have to be serious about it...and after seeing myself on video camera and in pictures...I got serious.
