Oh man do I hate this whole dieting. I guess I should be more positive...I don't really enjoy dieting, but I know the results will out weigh the negatives!! But seriously, this is the first REAL diet I have ever gone on. I have always lived on fast food and restaurants for EVERY meal for pretty much...good portion of my life...and I was always able to have a metabolism to keep up with it. I would eat mcDonalds and Chili's everyday for meals and still be average weight. Well I guess all of that changed drastically when I entered my mid-20's, because all of a sudden (the last 2 years) its like I keep gaining weight, slowly, but steadily. I have blimped 35 lbs in 2 years! And its hard to notice that little 1-1 1/2 lbs every month, but boy had it added up! I guess I just have to face facts that I can't eat like I used to in high school. I just fear how much worse I will get if I don't do something.
So in comes the atkins diet. I already spent my monthly grocery money on *atkins* no-carb low-carb items for the 2 week induction...so we will see how that goes. Only problem I have is (big problem) I am cooking-RETARDED.
My mom never even cooked when I was a kid, much less show me anything, so my cooking knowledge extends to boxed macaroni and cheese and scrambled eggs. Nevertheless, I bought TONS of fresh veggies at the market last night, and even though I don't even know what some of them are...I will do my darndest to through them in a big pot and cook them. Anyone have any tasty advice on what to do with a bunch of raw veggies or how to cook them right, PLEASE let me know it would be much appreciated. I mean, things like eggplant, and squash? Do you peel them? Cut them in halves? Pieces? Bake or fry them? I don't know!!
This should be fun though.....so we will see how it goes. I am so glad I found you guys!!
