  • Hello :)

Hello, my name is Stephanie.. Most call me Kiwi

I am from Indianapolis, Indiana and am 21 years old. I would like to start the Atkins diet because I am overweight by nearly 100lbs. This is horrible! I used to be slim until around 16 when I gained 60lbs in one year. Come to find out, a big part of it was the fact that I was kicked from cheerleading and I also have Polycystic Ovarian syndrome.

I doubt I'll be starting today, currently the only thing to eat in my kitchen is Ramen! Being a poor college student makes affording healthy food a hassle.. Especially when I only make $37 a week!

But enough complaining, my goal weight is 140lbs, my current weight is 260. .. This is a huge disappointment! I was 220 the end of last year, but problems with family caused my diet to kind of go downhill! I have pretty much only been eating ramen for that amount of time..

I would like to lose weight for one: to look better! and two: I have type 2 diabetes.... It's for the best!

So enough of that... Good luck to everyone else..and congratulations to those that I've already seen beaming with success!

Good luck to you! Are you on your college meal plan? if you are you could have some good chocies to pick from. If not, hard boiled eggs are a great source of protien for one meal. Wishing you a happy and healthy weight loss!

        Re: Hello

Unfortunately yes, I'm, still on it.. I bought alot of frozen chicken though! so I will be eating that, also bought roast beef, eggs ..and a few other healthy choices.. My sister, who does most of the grocery shopping, bought wheat spaghetti ..which I know for a fact is awful ^^;; but I'm transitioning, which I hope works out!

Thank you for the welcomes and information!

Kiwi Lynn make sure you read the rules of induction. Remember that only the foods listed allowed and wheat is not on that list so you do not have to eat tht spaghetti you do not like. Eat spaghetti squash instead. It is good for you.
