Hi My name is meredith and Im a 25 year old female from PA. I have always struggled with my weight from 9th grade on. I was able, through strenous exercise, finally able my 11th grade year to be at the "ideal" weight. I went into college after graduation and immediately started to notice weight gain. Two years later, topping of at 354lbs, it was FINALLY discovered that my weight gain was a result of a non-functioning thyroid. Ok....so ive i have tried EVERYTHING. Southbeach, nutrisystem, weight watchers, curves, LA weight loss.....u name it ive done it. I hesitated to do Atkins cause I am not an avid meat eater. I have been on Atkins for 3 weeks now. Staying in the induction till i loose, well, half of me . I have lost 22 pounds. So far so good. I am currently at 318 lbs. My goal weight is 165lbs. I am a tall lady. (5'10") My weight is crippling me. Causing me to have joint pain and the beginning stages of arthritis. I just want to be me again. Any advice and support I can get would be appreciated.

I think your joint pain will start easing up soon. I suffered from pain in my knees hips and back and now they are very rare. Stay active in this forum and you will have all the support you need to stay on track.
