Hi Guys!
Well, I've been on and off of Atkins for 8 years now. My usual routine is to lose 30-40 lbs, keep it off for a year or so, and then put it all back on. Repeat. I'm confident that this will be my last time yo-yo dieting on Atkins, and I'm hoping joining this board will help!
I'm a classic overeater when depressed or stressed, both of which I was for most of this past year. I just graduated from law school in May and spent the next 2 1/2 months studying for the bar. Sitting and studying for countless hours day after day did nothing for my figure... and eventually my weight ballooned to the highest it has ever been. I'm starting work on Monday and would love to get back into my size 8 work clothes sometime soon (I know I have a loooong way to go).
I've been on Atkins for about a month now, although it wasn't until the past two weeks that I became serious and stopped cheating. However, while normally I lose 10+ lbs during the two-week induction, I only lost 4 this time around. And those 4 lbs came off with a ton of sweat mind you, as I was running 4-5 miles a day, 4+ times a week. I've lost a total of 10.5 lbs for the month, but it just seems so much harder to lose weight now. Once I committed, I have not had any problems staying on the diet and I've been in Ketosis the entire time (deep shades of purple, which is odd since I rarely ever get past trace amounts)... yet, the pounds are not falling off like they used to. I guess I was spoiled in the past
I am on Celexa 20 mg, but that has never before caused a problem with my weight loss... could it be a factor now?
Anyways, I look forward to sharing in everyone's weight loss experiences
