  • Time to stick with it this time.

Well here I go again, if I can stick to it I know it can work. I need to loose about 70 pounds still. I lost 8 this summer but have not lost any for over 2 months. I was on Atkins about 3 years ago for a while and lost about 15 pounds so I know it works. I also felt better than I have for years. I am hoping to have more energy befor long to start exercising again, at least walking. At this point I am trying to force myself to at least a little. I am on my first day and so far so good. One thing I don't want to give up is my coffee, I only drink one to two cups in the morning but I like it with cream and sugar. Since I can't have the sugar and don't like sweetner what about agave or xyncol sweetners? Are they O.K. on this diet or do I need to find something else? I have never been on a bulletin board befor so I am a little lost on this also. It has been encouraging so far.

Warm welcome to the board and to Atkins! Nice to have you with us.
Don't worry about not being used to bulletin boards... you'll soon get the hang of things.
Congrats on your 8 lbs lost this summer. You'll find that lots more will follow them out of the window if you stick with the plan and eat the way Dr A advises.
Well done for your good intentions regarding exercise. Just start slow and increase gently.... maybe a block or two extra every day, or even just a few steps extra. They'll soon mount up and you might find yourself running marathons in time. You wouldn't be the first that had happened to!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with the two sweetners you mentioned, so can't advise. I'm sure someone knowlegeable will be around to help you there. If you can wean yourself off the coffee though, it would be a good thing. Some find that caffeine stalls.

Post lots and keep us up to date as to your progress. We're all in this together!

Hi there and welcome! Lots of info and encouragement here ... you've come to the right place Check in often; read everything and ask questions; join in the challenges, if you can. It all helps!

RE: Sweeteners ... pretty sure agave nectar is not allowed; "xyncol" isn't ringing a bell. If you don't like Splenda (I don't either), you might try Stevia instead. I found that by day 4 of Induction, my sugar craving went away, as if by magic! Hang in there

And congrats on losing eight pounds ... that's a good beginning! You don't need me to tell you exercise will rev up your metabolism ... you already knew that

      Anyhoo ... once again, welcome!
