  • The New Guy

    Hello,

I joined this board last weekend and started the induction phase yesterday at 311#. I've lived my entire life as a BIG guy. The fact of the matter is that all the way up to middle age, I was way above the weight charts because I was so heavily muscled. Now, I must admit, that was some time ago and I've lived a few years with all of those muscles having slid down around my belly !!! More recently, I've also been flirting with the early stages of hypertension and diabetes so it is definitely time to get it back together.

Professionally, I am a technical project manager so, as is typical for me, I've spent several weeks getting my head around the idea of this effort. During that time, I've read most of the books, visualizing and analyzing myself as a participant in each of the plans. So, here I am, with the support of those who love me and (hopefully) many new friends here on the ADBB, ready to begin living The Atkins Revolution for myself.

Hope to hear from you !

Welcome FOWG. I look forward to seeing you around here. I am on day 7 of induction. I can't tell you how much weight I've lost because I won't get on the scale. All I can tell you is that I feel great and the headaches and cravings are now gone. Best of luck to you ... see you around

Hey there! Sounds like you're really ready to do this ... great, and welcome aboard! This is a super site for support and info; check in frequently. Read everything. Ask questions. I hear you about gravity having its way with your muscles ... those batwings hanging underneath my aging arms are a constant reminder! Best of luck on your journey to a healthier lifestyle ... you can do it!

Hey there welcome! I am on day 3 induction. ...but not my first time around.

This time I PLANNED ahead. Got all my week's worth of food ahead of time and that way, I don't have to 'guess' what I am going to eat next! They are all laid out in a box in the frig and snacks are ready at all times! (lots of jerky)

Good luck! WE CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!

          Hi all,

Well, I'm off to a FAIRLY good start in most areas. I'm pushing my walking a few extra minutes and feel better for it. I'm feeling pretty comfortable with the menus I was able to construct from what was left around the house ad now we have had the extra week to get to the store and we have better suited ingredients to work with so, even though I've lost some weight and inches already, next week will be even better.

I'm moving out into the rest of the boards and hoping to be a lot more involved in them going forward.

Thanks for the early support !!!
