Hello. I am new to this board but not new to Atkins. I was on Atkins about 3 years ago and stopped doing it because my BMI go too low and I didnt have TOM for around 6 months. My doctor thought it was due to atkins and sure enough when I went off of it it came back. So this time around I am doing a modified version of atkins where I eat mostly low carb and avoid sugar as much as possible.
My face has been breaking out for the last 12 years and when I thought about it the only time it was clear was when I was doing atkins. So I figured I would try doing low carb again and see if it helps my skin. I usually eat a lot of wheat bread and regular pasta which I know probably isnt the best thing for my skin.
So as far as bread goes if I do eat it what type do you all recommend? I dont see that low carb bread anymore at my local grocery store anymore. I used to love that stuff.

Actually, bread is allowed in later phases. I have been reading Atkins for Life, and he recommends higher fiber breads like rye. It also recommends 'protein breads.' You might check at the health food stores for the protein breads. They often carrry 'Ezekiel bread' in the freezer, which is made with a variety of grains and beans. If you did not gain weight back and don't need to lose, Atkins for Life may well be the book you need.

Thanks for welcoming me to the board. Thanks for the info on the bread. I need to read that Atkins for Life book since that is most likely what I will be doing. I am not really trying to lose weight. I just enjoy the health benefits of the diet along with the clear skin I had while doing it.
