I'm not sure which colon cleanse you are considering, you seem to be doing just fine without it. I used take a psyllium shake everyday and that will really clean you out in a month or two. But don't star them until after you met you goal because it does contain carbs. 2 teaspoons of psyllium (COSTCO is pretty cheap) and 10ozs of water. stir it well and I used to take it before a meal because it filled me up a little. The psyllium under a microscope looks like like sandpaper sponges, so they claim and gently scrubs the inside of the colon walls. I don't recommend the chemical cleanses because they can contain things like Senna root which can cause numbness in the colon. Anyway read up on what you are going to use because there is quite a bit of quackery involved with colon cleanse.

      Good luck

I've heard colon cleanses are bad. You should just do Atkins. If you stick to atkins you will see a change.

My 2 cents: skip the colon cleanse. Your colon knows what it's supposed to be doing and knows how to do it. I've performed colonoscopies and I assure you your intestinal walls are NOT covered in 35lbs of waste like I've heard claimed on infomercials. If this were the case, deaths from colon cancer would plummet as people line up in droves to get scoped just to get their hands on the 1 day miracle weight loss bowl prep juice. In addition to disrupting the pH and bacterial balance of your GI tract, cleanses often leave folks dehydrated and cause rebound water retention. Just not worth it IMO. Eat healthy and let your body take care of the rest.

Ahaahahaha! Just like the sugar free no calorie grape flavor mixes for your water that make you stand there wondering what you did to tick off the intestinal gods and WTH you ate that was that shade of green!

Amen~nothing like a healthy diet with plenty of fiber & plenty of H20 to help facilitate getting things moving. The colon is amazing!

Asclepius thank you for this information. I have girlfriends who are so enthused with cleaning their colons until I've almost brought into it. Just this week I was wondering should I try the liver cleanse or the colon cleanse or ..... You just agreed with my first mind. Thanks

A really good colon cleanse: spinach and broccoli, cooked with LOTS of olive oil.
                      Tastes better too!

The distilled water and lemon cleanse is a safe effective way to clean the liver. Take a gallon of distilled water and squeeze the juice from 10 lemons into it shake it well and now for the tough part you have to fast for 1 day and consume that gallon of sugarless lemonade. That will detoxify your liver and make you feel squeaky clean inside. I have done this cleanse several times and it with aid in getting your system back on track. I first heard of it on Dr. Ronald Hoffman's radio program years ago.

I think I'll do the cleanse on Tuesday, I need to reset my innards.

I've read that asparagus is supposed to be really good for both liver and kidneys as well.
