Hello all!
Just joined the board - after much surfing I found myself coming here the most often for tips and such as I'm starting my Atkins journey.
I'm on week 3 of induction - lost 7 pounds in the first two weeks, nothing the third, but I'm not panicking, thanks to what many here have said about the issue.
I've been working on making several major changes in my life for the past couple of years.
First, I quit smoking. I'm one year 4 months smoke-free.
Then I got active to avoid going on blood pressure medicine. I sat on my butt for 20 years and my blood pressure was averaging 145/110 - now it's averaging 120/74. I took up the martial arts - I do PaSaRyu Taekwondo, Modern Arnis, and a little kyusho and I typically am in class five days a week.
Now I'm working on my weight and changing my lifestyle as far as eating goes. I'm 30 pounds over weight (well, make that 23 after the first two weeks of induction).
One thing at a time, slow and steady.
I was prompted to make these changes when I realized as I approached my 39th birthday that I am, in fact, likely to actually grow old, and my behavior did have unpleasant consequences I'm not willing to accept.
Anyway, I'm grateful this community exists and plan to visit often!

for you!
It's good that you don't get stressed out for not losing weight for days... that's absolutely normal and if you keep doing things right the extra lbs will eventually come off.
