  • I keep wandering away

    Hi,
I have tried atkins diet for the past few months now....but what scares me is that i keep wandering away all the time. I am a bit scared because i end up eating all the fat and carbs too. I also lose my temper when iam tring to control my eating habits...give me some advice.
I dont have a weighing machine at home so i take a picture of myself standing at the same place and wearing the same dress...do u think that is enough or should i go invest in a weighing scale.
I want to start with induction again ...need some motivation for that,so is any of u have done that please share ur experience with me.
    Thank you for ur support.

    AELLO,
I don't know what to say except you have to commit to it. The first two weeks are very different from your usual way of eating. You should plan ahead and gather all the types of food mentioned in the book for those two weeks so you won't be left hanging and not having something Atkins "legal" to munch on.
I know it sounds harsh but until someone actual commits to this it will never work for them. You need to read the book. Understand WHY this diet is a good way to lose weight and keep it off. You have to be completely convinced or you will only go into it half hearted and you won't stick.
I really hope you stick with it. These forums are a wonderful source of support and information. You can do it! Anyone can eat this yummy stuff and still lose weight! It is so much better than a calorie counting diet! Way better!

    Good luck!

Have you tried visualization? Constantly picture yourself the way you want to be and your mind will take you there. Every thought begins with a picture. Negativity is your worst enemy. If you call and picture yourself as a 'big fat cow', guess what you get? Post pictures of yourself the way you want to be and when you look at them, think "yes, that's me!"

There is a wonderful book called "Psycho-Cybernetics" by Maxwell Maltz that explains exactly why we get results we don't want and how to change that. Amazon.com has it for $7. I highly recommed it.

Good luck and keep us posted!
