  • third time around

    Hey there,
Just introducing myself. I went on the induction phase after both of my pregancies with great success but then never quite got to lifetime maintenance. Gained some weight back and finally this is the last time. I have been back on induction for a week and feel much better. Already fitting into clothes better and more energized. I have enjoyed the postings and have learned a lot just by reading. The support is great.
    Thanks!

    Re: third time around

Hello and welcome to the board. Hopefully you will make it through all 4 phases of the diet this time because that's the key to maintaining a healthy weight for the rest of your life. The different stages teach you how to retrain your eating habits so you can survive in the 'real world'. Good luck and keep us posted.

        Re: third time around

        Hi there,
Just a quick update. I am down 10 pounds and feeling good with regards to cravings, however this morning was sick to my stomach and felt faint. I had read in the Atkins book if you lose weight too fast you may feel poorly. Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions???
        Thanks,

I know I start to feel bad when I don't drink enough water. When your in Ketosis and don't drink enough water, all the toxins stick around instead of getting flushed out and make you feel horrible. At least that was my problem. I drink more and then feel better. Maybe try that?? Hope that helps.

8 lbs away from your goal...way to go . May I ask how long you have been on Atkins and at what rate did you lose ?

              Re: third time around

I have been on Atkins for approximately 2 1/2 weeks. I lost the bulk of my weight the first week and now it is slowing down. I had outpatient surgery yesterday and has caused some swelling so I don't want to weigh myself and get discouraged. I was tempted today, I think due to not feeling well, but fought the urge to eat sugar!

I appreciate the responses to my questions. I have increased my water intake with some good results. I still am starting my day off nauseaus (sp?) Hopefully that will improve.

I hope you are all doing well on your journies. It sure is an ongoing battle!
