  • Getting ready to start induction

    Hello Everyone,

I am preparing to begin the induction phase within the next two weeks. I have been doing a lot of research, planning, and mental preparation for the big day. As an emotional eater and sugar addict, I need all of the pre-planning and help I can get. Today, for example, I stopped using sugar in my coffee , I know it's a very small step, but every step counts. I have prepared a grocery list, and am planning a menu and excercise program.

I have quite a bit of weight to lose, and I'm finally at the stage in my life where I am seriously ready to take the step to reach my weight goal! I have known several folks who have done the Atkins Diet, and have been extremely successful -- even years later.

Re: Getting ready to start induction

Good job by planning first. That's exactly what I'm doing this time around. I'm starting Induction Monday after I fill my kitchen up with the right foods. I've re-read the book and I am looking forward to my new WOE. I tend to go for convienence foods which leads to caving when I'm hungry. This time I plan on having lots of "Legal" foods available at all times. Good luck. It seems we will be starting about the same time. We could help keep each other on track.

              Hello Jennifer,

That sounds fantastic. I am waiting for two weeks when classes end (I'm working on a masters), that way I will have complete devotion to this. I am a bit nervous about this, but I figure if I can make it through Thanksgiving, then I will be okay. For

Another thing I did today to prepare was switch from cola to water (easing into this with the countdown on!)

                Hello Jennifer,

That sounds fantastic. I am waiting for two weeks when classes end (I'm working on a masters), that way I will have complete devotion to this. I am afriad of the "Atkins Flu" so if I get it, I don't want to be trying to focus on school at the same time.

My timing is not great to start, but I surmise that if I can make it through Thanksgiving and Christmas, then I will be okay. For me, this is all based on sheer willpower.

Another thing I did today to prepare was switch from cola to water (easing into this with the countdown on!)

I have about 70 pounds to lose. I am determined to make this happen!
