  • Nice to meet all you thin people!

At least we will all be right?

How do you guys do, my name is Cassandra, my stats are 238/188/138

I was 183 1 week ago but decided to eat like mad before my induction and now I am 188

My birthday is coming up in about 2 weeks (induction time) and I hope/expect to be 169, I know long shot but my current 188 is mosly from soda and eating late last night.

    My plan

    NO EATING AFTER 7pm
Workout 1 - 3 miles in the morning
    Workout 2 - 2 miles near bedtime

Wish me luck, best of luck to you guys too!

    Welcome Cassandra~
    Happy early birthday to you...
I wish you the best with induction but I'm hoping you're not putting too much stock in that number 169.
19 pounds in 2 weeks is a big number and if you've done induction before, it gets even harder sometimes. I'm all about setting goals but if you're anything like me, you'll set the bar high and workout like a mad woman. If that scale says anything other than 169 I'd be crushed and unable to enjoy my b-day for trying to figure out why the scale won't move. Keep us posted on how you're doing and be sure to take pics.
oh and remember that us low-carbers don't really worry about how late at night we can eat. Being in Ketosis is one of the most calorically wasteful ways of living so if you're hungry at 7:02...hunni grab a salad and veg out!

      Hey thanks girl!

Nice to see other black women here too, I know in our community being obese is considered OKAY, but ever since I have been around white people for the past few years, I realize how much emphasis they put on being thin.

      Size 7 is great!

      I am 5'5 and 188 a size 14, at 169 I was a size 12 So by 138 I will probably be a 5/6,

      I started out a size 18/20 and my goal is a 6.

What was your starting weight, how much time did it take you, how much did you lose in induction?

Hi and welcome! Don't fixate on the scale ... it'll drive you nuts! Just do a clean induction (you've read the book, right?) and let your body go at its own pace ... best of luck on your journey!

ADBB is a great site...everyone is so nice here! There are people from all over the world on this site which I find really cool.
I started at 204 and it took me exaclty a year to lose. I took my time and of course there were slip ups along the way because this has to become a way of life for you. I lost 15 pound during my first induction. I have gone back to induction twice since then and I can only manage to lose around 9 pounds but I'm happy with just "feeling" better.
          Just focus on things like...
How much water you will commit to
          How much you will exercise
How much more sleep you plan to get
How many more veggies you plan to eat.
Stuff like that will get the weight off and doesn't come with the pressures of the evil scale. The numbers are not to be relied on because the last time I wore a size 8 I was 135lbs. I'm in a size 7 and I'm in the 150's. You never know how the inches will work with your body so try not to get too fixated on the numbers. I think one of the best things that a lot of us do here is to get an item of clothing that you can't fit and when you can fit it or it gets too big then you know you're meeting your goals. It's fun and pics really show your progress.
