  • Hey there

Well I am fairly new to atkins. My husband and I decided to try living low carb in July as my sister in law has done it and lost significant weight. She did not do the atkins but another form of low carb. Well I really researched it and from July on we have cut out carbs and are loving our weight loss, but are interested in fully doing atkins and the induction. I actually do not have the original book, but have borrowed it from the library and will read that along with the 12 week program one we have. We have not started on the induction fully as I am in the process of planning meals that we like and that we can cut the carbs on. I am 33 years old and the mother of 1 little one who is 8 1/2 months old. I live in Canada. In July my weight was 213 lbs. and I am already down to 187 lbs. not quite back to my prepregnancy weight. My ultimate weight goal is to get down to around 135 lbs. though. My husband and I have started to do pilates regularly and I am in the process of buying a kickboxing video for some cardio.

        Hey Squiders ~ Welcome

Finally, a fellow Canadian! I hope your induction is going well. My hubby has jumped on the wagon with me in the past and the support was wonderful (except for the fact that he lost, like, 10x my total weight in a week...). That aside, having a buddy to meal plan with, and oooohhhh and aahhhhhh over your deee-licious chicken / broccoli salad combo is much easier across the table from someone who's NOT eating french-fries.

Best of luck to both of you. Visit daily and post often. I'm around, if you need anything. I'm no expert like some of the seasoned veterans around here, but I can surely point you in the right direction. I also make a wonderul whining partner - especially when I read about all these fab low-carb products that are banned here in Canada. Low-carb flavoured syrups? Icecream? No fair! Yeesh!
