  • Back for good!

Hi all. I'm Steph and I am a big girl! About 5 years ago I went on Atkins and lost 80 lbs in 6 months. I'm not sure what ever lead me back into eating those terrible whoopie pies and cookies, but I ended up going down a path that made me gain all of my 80 lbs back plus some. I then got pregnant after years of infertility and packed on another 40 lbs. After the baby, I lost 52 lbs (just by sheer fear of knowing that I was responsible for a 10 lb bundle of joy for the rest of my life) and my weight seemed to get back on track. I've had some major losses in the past two years. Both my mother and brother have died tragic deaths- and this has made me turn to food. I am happy to say, though, that reaching my peak- unpregnant- weight of 324- I decided to once again take charge and regain control of the one thing I can control. I started Atkins full force on Oct 13 and have already shed 12 lbs. I am soooo back on track and am eager to join the rest of you again to become a healthy, fit, confident person. All of the before and after stories and pics inspire me so much. Even my after pics from the last Atkins run makes me that much more determined to do it again. So, just wanted to stop by and say hi and let you know I'm happy to be hanging around these parts again! Take care, all!

Ah, that is the dreaded question. And as of yet, I have not incorporated that scary beast. I do walk, but I know I need to get going and do more in that area. I did buy a wii fit with the intention of having 'fun' exercise, so that little baby will be coming out of its box very soon. Your loss is great, by the way! You look wonderful!

          Re: Back for good!

Thanks... I fell off the wagon and gained back some.. but am back on track now...

I have the Wii Fit (I was one of those people who *had* to have it the first day it was released). I love it. I feel like doing the boxing burns off more calories than the other activities, but the various forms of "step aerobics" are great as well. On 29 October, they will be releasing a new "game" called Fitness Ultimatum 2009, which is in collaboration with Jillian Michaels (Fitness competitor and trainer from Biggest Loser). I (obviously) cannot wait for this to happen.

Okay, back to the point - walking is a great form of exercise, and a great place to start! Much better than sitting around watching tv!
