    Hi All,

    I'm brand new to this! I'm 66 years old, and have to lose a lot of weight in order to be able to maintain a fairly active lifestyle. My Doctor strongly suggested this diet. I am having a hard time adapting to no milk, cereal, or bread!

    We know it can be tough, and the first days are the hardest. Yay you have an enlightened doctor! We will cheer you on, this plan works like gangbusters, so just hang in there. No lie.. in a few days if you stay on track, you will feel more clearheaded, energetic , and you will not be hungriy. Trust me on this!

      Hey, De! Welcome ... yeah, the first week can be a bear! But it gets better, fast Your doctor sounds awesome! Don't be a stranger ... this board is a lifesaver when it comes to information and support

        Hiya and welcome! Nice that you have a pro Atkins doctor.
        This programme really works, you'll see. Also, it is an extremely healthy way of eating, especially as you move through the phases and introduce more and more foods.

        Hang in there through the first few days and don't worry if you feel a little off colour... this is normal and is just your body weaning itself off the carbs. Very shortly you'll begin to feel energised and simply wonderful.

          WOW, a doctor who is pro atkins!
          That doesn't happen that often, even in the Netherlands they still stick to the low cal, low fat diets.
          And no cereals, milk and bread, you get used to it.
          There is a lot of healthy foods you can eat.
