  • Greetings from the Last Frontier~Alaska!

Hi, my name is Bobbi. I have attempted Atkins a few times over the years...I had good success a few years back...I did not put all the weight back on, I just had it "shift". After taking my measurements on Monday I found myself with tears falling. I have managed to put on about 10 inches on my breast, my waist and my hips! Holy Crap! That was an eye opener for me...I have managed to "shimmy" into my jeans for some time now, refusing to buy a size larger. But the measurements do not lie and I have been fooling myself. No more!
I started Induction on Monday, 11/3/08. My goal is to take off 75 pounds...for now, I am going to take it it 5 pound increments or 1 pound at a time if needed. I recently met a great man and feel not so romantic due to my weight. He likes me for me, however, I am struggling with health issues and know that my weight is the culprit. I want to loose this weight to regain my confidence and to prove to myself I am capable of completing something I have started...So far the last few days have been good. I find that each day I have more energy and my sweet tooth has stopped barking! I also relized that my red wine drinking was more than a glass~not every night, but this new way of life will help with that craving also.
I am also a nurse~or soon to be. I am busy studying to take the NXCLEX RN exam (again) and that helps keep me busy. I dont want to be known as the "fat nurse", I want to be known as the caring, professional, smart one who can go between scrubs and jeans...
So, that is me. I am also a single mom of two wonderful teenage sons. I quilt, sew, and bead. I enjoy hunting, boating, and fishing. I am fortunate enough to have fresh fish and venison in my freezer...love that stuff!
I have made a goal to loose weight, become healthy and to reconnect with myself. I have so much to offer but have allowed the heavy me retreat from fun things.
Best of luck to me and to YOU! We CAN do this!
