Hi,
My name is Alisa. I am 23, and at the beggining of August I weighed 177. That is the most I ever weighed, but at the time I thought I could deal. Then mid August I moved to Miami for graduate school, the simple act of not having as much food, and working out 2-3 times a week on average got me down to 170 by October. I had decided that I liked losing weight and would like to go back to my weight of when I just started my Undergrad. What kicked off my weight gaining spree, was working at a Starbucks in Target. I worked there for several months, part time. And I drank at least 1 cup of some form of coffee everyday I worked there. I did change jobs, but the weight from then on just kept on coming, that was in 2006.
My Fiancee suggested ATkins, so I bought the book and decided to give it a try. Currently I am almost done with my first week of Induction and have lost almost 5 pounds! It is very exciting, and I think I will lose more when I start exercising. I haven't yet b/c this has been a very busy week in school, and I needed most of my free time studying.
My biggest weakness is missing the foods I can't have. My second day on Atkins, we had a group of interviewees for my school. And they ordered pizza for them, and we were allowed to have the extra. It took A LOT of will power and some strict words from my Fiancee to keep me from eating a slice. I still wish I could of had a slice.
I hope on Atkins I will stop missing these foods so much. I LOVE Pizza, and pasta. But I keep telling myself once I get thru the first 2 stages, and I find my perfect carb level; I can have less carbs during most of the week, so once a week I can have a little treat. I read in the book that someone did that, so I think as long as I don't overdo its ok.
Now that I realize I am rambling, I will stop before I bore to many people.
I just happened upon this form, and I am glad I found it
