Hi Everyone,
Well I started my Atkins journey officially on July 14/08 at a weight of 275 lbs, however was still nursing my son and he didn't appreciate me going into ketosis. So I was only in induction for 5 days until discovering this and so added back some carbs, mainly fruit to keep nursing him. I also bought Wii Fit and was using this for 2 weeks straight until I dislocated my knee while doing the hula hooping and this had me out of commission for excercise, just starting to be back to "normal". I did restart induction once I was done nursing on Sep 05/08 at 268 lbs and have been following the rules pretty well until Thanksgiving (canadian thanksgiving). Since then my weightloss slowed after my cheat (I realized how drastic a small cheat can hurt) and then lately I've been fighting a horrible cold while not allowing myself any of the regular cough medicines as they have too much sugar. Anyways, I've looked at this board a lot for recipes and decided it was time I became an active member and got serious. My weight today is 254.5 which is lower than it was when I got pregnant the first time, so that makes me a bit happy, however I have a long way to go. I have spent most of the last 2 yrs either pregnant or nursing and hope to get pregnant again soon in the new year. My first son was born in Dec/06 and second son born in Feb/08, and if I have my way, I'd like a third baby in fall/09. Needless to say I know my journey to 150lbs will be a long road, but I would like to lose more prior to getting pregnant....and hopefully not gain too much while being pregnant. Now that my knee is getting better, I'm hoping to get back into excercising as much as my physiotherapist allows. Well I've done a lot of rambling and still missed some information. I'm married and 31 yrs old, a small business banker on mat leave due to return to work in January however hoping to be a stay at home mom for the next few years. My husband has a full time job in agriculture as well we have an organic grain farm on the side. So yes, life is busy but I love it. My husband is a carb addict so he has begrudgingly tries my recipes...some he likes but most I have to make him a side of potatoes or pasta. He sure does miss me making homemade buns. Anyways, am looking forward to being an active member on this board and getting and giving support wherever possible. I tried to make a ticker however I don't think I did it right. Any advice on what I did wrong?
