Hi everyone, this is my second time on Atkins and I'm over fifty so I'll be watching a couple of the boards. The first time around I lost 40 pounds in 45 days, the last thirty pounds in 30 days, so I know for sure this way of life really works. (I did walk 3 miles a day as well as doing Atkins). I got down to within 15 pounds of my goal and started taking my easy way of loosing weight for granted and then eventually forgot how much I needed Atkins. Well, life happens and a few disasters happened and I started gaining again and didn't care. Two months ago my doctor told me my blood pressure was through the roof and I was 60 lbs overweight, Just after that I met up with a friend I hadn't seen for 30 some years and noticed he was walking funny. I asked him what happened expecting a car accident victim or something. He told me that he had had a stroke because of his high blood presure and his weight. Well these two things came to me as a wake up call. I took me 3 weeks to loose 5 lbs on a standard portion control diet, which I found frustrating. I gave myself a shake, dug out my old Atkins book and never looked back. That was only 20 days ago, I am down a total of 17 lbs (between the two diets) and I've lost 3 inches off my waist and my blood pressure is down 20 some-odd points
I set my weight goal to 180 lbs based in my BMI, I was 243 when I started it all, today I weigh 228 so still have 48 lbs to go.
My confidence is high and my close are feeling loose.
I'll keep you posted

Have you checked out the STAC forum yet? (Second Time Around Club) There are lots of great folks there who have walked in our shoes, and is a great place for support and motivation. Here is the link, in case you haven't seen it yet.
