    Hello Everyone.

I have done Atkins twice in the past and have been very successful in achieving my goal weight. I do not have a problem with cheating or giving up because of cravings or anything and I follow the guidelines pretty good.

My problem is that I can stay away from bread and rice for a few months but not for ever. So every time I reach my goal (after induction) I go back to eating bread and rice, telling myself that if I exercise regularly (like I used to when I was younger, am 37 now) I wont gain weight. But somehow I end up not exercising and eating two much . May be its because I know that I can always go back to the Atkins Diet (which really means induction for me and IT SHOULDN'T) and lose that weight.

I have been really lazy lately but after my wife and mom told me that I need to go on the diet that worked for me in the past (Atkins) asap, or they will disown me , I started induction two weeks ago. Couldn't find my book so I downloaded the induction rules online, did some grocery shopping and here we are. I couldn't believe the scale at my daughter's dentist's clinic when it read 295. I seriously thought that there something wrong with it. My 38" jeans are not tight anymore . But I have a few months to go before I can enjoy my 34" pair.

I hope that my approach to Atkins Diet will/should change this time around when I reach my goal and finally move to advanced phases of this diet plan.

This board has a lot of information and I think it will be of great help to me or anyone else trying this diet.

        Hi, Gemi

        Welcome aboard!

Hey, there are some recipes using cauliflower to make "rice" dishes that I hear are pretty good. I haven't tried them, because rice is something I could easily give up. Now BREAD - well, that's another story. I still miss it, but I like being at my goal weight a lot better.

Check out this link - http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...-new-read.html There are lots of tidbits of information in it, and one of them is a link to a website that a lot of us use for recipes. There you will find some recipes for "rice" dishes. You can also use the recipe forum on this board. Take your time and explore... there are so many tools here to help you succeed. Stick close to the board, and you will do great. Good luck!
