  • New from Switzerland..some challenges, some successes

    Hi All,

    I'm in week 3 of Atkins having just finished induction 3 kg less than when I started (yay). Moving into OWL phase one with some added vegetables but staying pretty close to induction as it seems to be working.

    I'm 32, 5'7.5", start weight 85 (187 lbs) kg, current weight 81.6 kg (179.5 lbs).

    So far the program hasn't been too difficult to stick to although there are some challenges.
    1) hard to find some products in Switzerland or neighbouring France (i.e. Vanilla extract, so far have only been able to find vanilla flavouring, which has sugar).
    2) My friends meet up for drinks alot and limiting the drinks to an occasional glass of wine or vodka and soda has been a bit difficult socially but they are starting to come around.
    3) good snack ideas - although am getting better at making sure I take them to work so I don't get hungry.

    Some successes:
    1) My pants are too tight anymore yay!!
    2) Feel better (have been taking the recommended vitamins)
    3) 3 kilos ain't bad
    4) learning to cook new recipes

    Hopefully will keep posting, my goal weight is 75 kg or 165 lbs. Next mini goal is 80 kg (176lbs).

    Nice to meet you Rae. Wonderful to hear about your successes.
    There is always some adjustment involved but it seems like you are making them.
    Good job on getting to OWL.
    Did you include exercise yet? It will help.
