Hello all! I'm back. It has been a few years. I was strict on Atkins from around June of 2003 through probably 2006ish...I can't really pinpoint the exact time I fell off the wagon. I had originally started at 305 and lost 96 pounds. I'm sad to say that I got on the scale yesterday and saw 316 pounds. It is extremely hard to admit I blew all of the hard work I put in. It is hard to admit where I am today and whawt I look like. However, the important thing is is that I'm back and commited as of yesterday, Monday, November 10th.
I found a lot of support and great information here on the boards the last time around, so I thought I'd stop back by and see what else I can learn or take away from here. It will be interesting to see if I see any familiar faces as I find my way back through the forums. Hopefully you have all done much better than I have managed to do.
I remember I used to read these posts of people who had lost weight and then fell off the wagon and gained it all back and wondered how anybody could let that happen. Now I am the poster child. How do I gain back 107 pounds in a couple of years? Why didn't I stop it after 10, 20, or even 50 pounds? It blows my mind. However, I know I ate like crap. I know I ate tons of fast food and huge portions. And deep down I knew at the time what it was doing to me, but was in some sort of denial. I was ignoring the issue.
And now I know what works. Atkins works for me and that is what I trust in now. I've only been back on for 2 days, but I could swear I already feel better. I swear my appetite is already way down. I swear I already have more energy. I know this is probably mostly psychological this early on, but I think that is a good sign. I feel committed again. I haven't felt that in a long time.
So I guess that is enough babble for now. See you all around the forums!
