Hey everybody, I am new to the group and four days into my induction phase. I went on the Atkins diet originally over ten years ago. It worked well and I stuck with fairly low carb for years. But, as time went on and age slipped in along with hot flashes and that ole body just trying to hang on to as musch fat as it can, I am returning to the diet. A couple of months ago I tried a flat belly diet. Not only did it not work, I was miserable. I think I lost 3 pounds, which I can flutualte on a daily abasis anyway! I think I was trying to tell myself that eating another way would be healthier. I have obviously changed my mind! I am curious to see how it works for me now. the diet has improved so much, with so many more options and recipes out there than was available 10 years ago. Wish me luck- I'll keep you posted! Re: New to Group
Thanks for the encouragement. I really do hate the stuggle and wish it were easier. The genetics/metabolism just were not there initally much less now during the "change" years. I will say that through the years I have been very good at watching my weight, exercising, etc. If not for that, my original weight would be much higher, like some in my immediate family. I just can't stand being overweight so most likely the struggle will continue. I am on the 4th day and already feeling better about the diet. My initial need to get the sugar out my system was huge!! Again thanks- Suzanne

Re: New to Group
Hi Suzanne
Welcome. I am an other one with plenty of year behind me but just like Nyna I have found it does work - slow but steady.
Atkins changed also some years ago. Did you check out the 2002 New Diet Revolution yet?
