I have been viewing this board for the past week at least and I can not say just how much it has helped me! I originally started the Atkins November 3, 2008 because a coworker and friend said she was beginning the diet and I felt the buddy system would be great. I didn't research anything and looked at the basic, Ok, Terri no bread. I was finding that I was self sabotaging all the time... meat with no ketchup.. oh no! No fruit for induction? She steered me very well and then I began doing my research so that if I am missing that cupcake, I know it's for a good reason, lol.
I have now marked my official starting date to be November 10, 2008. I had thought I was around 165 and I never usually care too much about my weigh since I hold my mother's figure to a "T". However, I liked being 140 and I had thought at that time, you know, it's great dressing a smaller body. What makes me excited is that losing weight isn't a huge decision, but it would be a nice change, especially since when I actually did weight myself I was actually 175 (and praying the scale was wrong).
The recipes on this website saved me several times indeed! The cauliflower pizza!!! The mock danish!!! Cream Cheese and packet of splenda!!! They get me through those moments of missing my favorites foods and sweets. I am now addicted to taco salad (hold the bowl of course!) Also, my friend makes a MEAN chicken salad, it's amazing!!
So, my goal will be 130. I'm excited about the challenge and learning new meals to help me maintain this road. I'm also excited about meeting everyone on the board.
Oh, and few things about me... well I'm 27, separated Momma of three gorgeous little people! I work full time at the computer screen in a job and office that I am grateful for every single day. I am usually the optimistic, cheerful one but what can I say... as I tell my children, "Everyone gets a turn" and I think that applies to having bad days/times too.
In any case, it's wonderful to meet you all and I'm excited to be joining the board!!!
