  • Hello!

    Hi Everyone,

This is my first time on Atkins and I"m really excited for my new WOE.
This is my 3rd day and I can confirm that I have the headaches, but no big deal, just means that it's working!

For a guideline: does everyone weigh thereselves once a month? or sooner?

I can't believe that I can eat so much fat and all of my favourite foods. Love cheese and steak, chicken and bacon, butter and veggies...mmmmmm.

I have read all the success stories, advice columns and other important threads for newbees. You guys are awesome!

I'm looking forward to dropping those pounds with you!

    Cheers

      Hi, Jammers

Well, I've found that different people have different ideas about how often to weigh. Personally, I weighed once a week during my journey. There are those who weigh less often, and then there are those who weigh everyday. I've found that body weight fluctuates naturally so much, that weighing everyday would drive me batty. I averaged a loss of between 1 and 2 pounds a week... that means that some weeks I lost 0 pounds, occasionally I lost 2 pounds, but for the most part I lost 1 pound a week. I know that it doesn't sound like a lot, but those pounds surely did add up! It would have played games with my head to weigh every single day, and watch a pound bounce back and forth all week. My way, I got on the scale every Sunday morning, and it was, what it was. I could get excited over a 1 pound loss for the week, as long as I didn't ride the roller coaster everyday.

I had always read that it is most healthy to lose the weight slowly, and I think doing that did help my skin to shrink up as much as it has. It also forced me to look at this way of eating as a lifestyle change, and not just a means to lose weight. So, weigh your options and see what works for you.

      Best wishes!
