    Hello all,

I'm new to this forum but not to Atkins. (past attempts a few years ago)

I'm a "carb-bloater" as I like to say. My skinny wife and I eat the same portion of spaghetti, I'm then on the coach in a food-coma and she's dancing around the house. I hate it.

I'm 42, 6' 2" and 300lbs. + in a football linemans body. I've always been wide shoulders and lifted weights so my body has a decent amount of underlying muscle. However I'm much overweight and I'm sick and tired of being sick and tried. I look great at 220lbs and they say that's too high for my BMI!

I have NOT been trapped in a "large" overweight body my whole life. In fact I've only gained weight since 2002 and more seriously since 2005.

    Anyway...

    I am NOT myself.

I have always had a beautiful tenor voice and I've sung many times at weddings, festivals, barbershop and now I sing lead in a band. I'm always well trimmed, smell good, nice clothes, and I need to look good but I hate MYSELF!

    I want my LIFE BACK!

So here I come one more time to try the only real style of eating that I know I feel the best on. Low/good carbs and lots of proteins. I'm not a food or carb addict. I'm a simple grazer and carbs just bloat me. I also like my vodka and water's with Crystal-Light in the evenings. (Bad habit left over from a nasty divorce). So I'm being 100% honest here and putting myself on the line for a reality slap in my own face.

    I want my LIFE BACK!

I'll post pics of my progress and I'm gonna need support and have stupid questions from time to time.

But I need to lose quick and see some nice progress to "keep the faith" so I know it's imparitive that I stay strict on the Induction Phase.

[Deep breath] and Lord help me...

Thanks to you all and I hope to make some great new friends.

Seems you're already familiar with Atkins and how good low carbing makes you feel. That's awesome and am so glad you decided to get back on the wagon. Soon, I just know you're gonna look as good as you sound (yeah... can just imagine that romantic tenor voice!!)

Post lots and keep us updated. We're all looking forward to following your progress.

Thanks for all the kind comments and encouragement!

I know that for me, eating different will NOT make a difference. I NEED, I MUST, I HAVE TO...include exercise EVERYDAY. I didn't today becase I still need to connect a few things on the elliptical machine (snowed here 3" today so no outside walking), but I will in the next day or two.

We had TurkeyDay Sunday so I'm all set for Thursday. Besides Thanksgiving will be lots of Alaskan King Crab legs instead of turkey and no to little carbs, so I'm all set for this Holiday!

I did the scale and took a picture today for my records. OMG....and to think I used to love the camera and the scale!!!
