  • Hi! I'm new here... trying this yet again!!!

My name is Victoria. I'm 30 yrs old. Single mother to 4 amazing children ages 10, 8, 6, 2. I've done Atkins successfully in the past... let me give you a little background on that: In May 2005 I went to a family function and decided to weigh myself and was shocked to find I was almost 200lbs (the heaviest I've ever been)... from that day I decided to take charge and do something about it before I gained even more weight. I started Atkins for the first time June 1st, 2005. I was thrilled with the results and was down to 145lbs by the end of August!!! I became pregnant in September and decided not to do Atkins during my pregnancy but I was happy that I was only 10 lbs over my pre-pregnancy weight after I had the baby... so I went back on Atkins and got right down to my pre-pregnancy weight shortly after my son was born... For the last 3 years I've been on and off low-carbing and I feel very out of control again and am convinced that my addiction to carbs is way bigger than I thought. I had such success with it the first time but in the last 3 years I haven't been able to keep it up like I did before... I end up low-carbing and then carb-binging out of the blue and it really makes me angry at myself after!!! I started again yesterday but ended up going to Mcdonald's at 3am...sigh... So today I'm determined to start over again for good!! I joined this board because I really need the support and help to keep it up. I would love advice and a few 'buddies' to help keep my focus this time.
    I now weigh 170 lbs. My goal is 140lbs. I'm 5'6".
Thanks so much for reading this. Good luck everyone!!!

Hi there Victoria and welcome aboard! Really pleased you've gotten back on the Atkins wagon and are determined to start over for good. You won't regret it when you're at goal.

Come here every time you feel you might be slipping towards one of those carb binging sessions. It really helps. Another tip is to always have a high fat snack to hand for when cravings hit.
