Hiya,as you can see my handle is Archmage...I'm about 10 days into induction.I tried the low-fat calorie counting thing for about a week(1200) and then I found the ANDR 2002,at a thrift store and started on that.I started at 265 on 11-13-08,started induction on the 20th and I now weigh 247,I don't have the strips but I have had that strong mettalic taste in my mouth since day 3.I usually have a sausage patty and 2 eggs for breakfast,a can of tuna w/ mayo and a dill pickle or can of greenbeans for lunch.dinner is a random meat dish and maybe a serving of greens.Pork rinds for a snack.I do alot of sit-ups and curls,some push-ups and dips.My cardio is mostly like 20-30 minutes of walking.I'm open to any suggestions ,Thanx.

Sorry that it has taken me so long to respond to your introduction. We're happy to have you here!
Sounds like you're off to a great start. As for advice, I see that you are already doing my #1 suggestion - reading the book. Good for you! My other advice is to always remember to eat your veggies. I wouldn't touch a veggie with a 10 foot pole prior to Atkins. And on my first attempt at Atkins, I didn't open my mind very much to them either... I think that was one of the reasons that I didn't succeed on that first try. This time, I have embraced veggies and it has made all of the difference in the world.
My last piece of advice is to spend as much time as you can on this board. I didn't have it on my first go-round, but have had it since the beginning this time. What a huge help it has been! So do some exploring around here, and post often.

Do pickles count? I eat about 5 carbs worth of them daily.Will it hinder my weight loss if I don't eat my veggies? I'm on vitamins.is it the ruffage factor? I get collateral carbs from coffee creamer and splenda, i am in a controlled environment and I don't always have total control over ingredients.though I eat meat/fat primarily.I try to account for this as best I can.I am leery of "hidden" carbs lol.anyway-thanxFat people are forced by circumstance to have great personalities.So once the weight is gone we're better off for having had it.(the lighter side of obesity)
