So, I'm jumping on the Atkins wagon. I've done it a few times before a few years ago, and usually lasted a week or two on it, lost some weight, then fell off it.
This time is different though. I have some clear advantages, and for the first time, I have a goal and something to work towards!
So, a little about me.. I'm Britt, 22, 5'9'', 340lbs, and usually wear anything from a size 22-26. I was married 2 months ago to the man I've been with for almost 6 years (January will be 6 years).
A lot of the reason I'm doing this is because I have PCOS. My husband and I have decided that when he gets back from his deployment next July (Hooyah Navy) we're going to start trying for a baby. A lot of people say this is really soon, and we should wait.. But we've experienced everything we want to experience as a couple in the last 6 years. Now we're ready to start a family. My GYN has told me if I can get my weight down, I have a pretty good chance of my PCOS symptoms going away and conceiving will be much easier. And if not, at a lower weight, it'd be easier for me to get started on fertility treatments if need be.
I originally wanted to start yesterday the 1st, but I think I'm going to delay my start til next Monday. Reason being, I woke up Monday with a severe sinus infection. And I'm trying to kick it, and I don't think I could do induction flu on top of this. lol.
Anyways, this time I'm sticking to it. I finally have a clear goal to work towards, not just 'Hurr, I wanna be skinny!'. I don't even really care about being skinny, I just want to be HEALTHY. I've been pretty lucky so far, I don't have high blood pressure or diabetes issues so i want to get down to a healthier weight before that happens.
So wish me luck (and promise to kick my butt if I cheat)! And any tips anyone has are welcome!
