  • 2nd-Timer, 5 Year Drop Out

I am a 53- year old female with some health issues. I'm on Steroids and hormone replacement plus I put on 50 pounds in the past 5 years after quitting smoking. I KNOW it will be difficult but there's no other way for me but Adkins. I've tried most of the other systems out there. Seven years ago I destroyed 50 pounds the Adkins way and kept it off for 2 years until I stopped smoking and started eating the wrong things. It PILED back on quickly. This time - I'm in for the long haul. I LOVE this site. It's already helping me and I haven't started yet. I'm waiting on the 2002 version of the Adkins book that's coming in the mail. With everyone's help here at the website and my new attitude, I'll make it!!!!!!

Why is it that we GAIN after we quit smoking???? It's suppose to be such a HEALTHY thing to do......Sometimes I wish I'd never quit - just because of the weight gain. I know that's not reasonable but it's very discouraging to pack on weight like this. Oh well. Enough whining!!!!! Thanks for the post.
