  • 2nd Time Around

Hi, this is my second time around on the Atkins Diet. My wife and I did the induction phase about 5 years ago. I lost 17 lbs and she lost about 10 lbs. We were happy with the weight loss at that time but since then we have packed on the pounds again. We are determined to make the Atkins Diet a permanent part of our life this time around.

Welcome to ADBB. Lots of support to be had here. Did you guys follow the 2002 version of Atkins last time? It is the one that is recommended here.

I really don't remember what version we were using, and I suspect as first timers on the Atkins diet at that time we kind of just jump into it to see what would happen. We were pleasantly surprised to lose a decent amount of weight (17lbs for me and 10lbs for my wife). This time we have purchased the Atkins book, cookbook, carb counter and the 120 day Atkins Journal both myself and my wife. I think were all setup now to succeed and to make this a regular part of our lives. Wish us luck.

        Hi Pepper,

Welcome, it's great to have you here.

A number of years ago I tried Atkins...sadly I skimmed the book...made up "my version"....lost about 20lbs....went off of it....gained the 20 lbs back that I lost and a whole pile more on top of that!!!

This past July, I picked up the Atkins book that this forum refers to and read EVERY single sentence from cover to cover and I am doing it properly this time and experiencing great success....I have no desire what so ever to EVER go back to the way I was eating. Eating this way is a way of life...not something to go on and off of and then back on...I certainly learned my lesson the hard way!

Welcome back to the Atkins way of eating...I know you and your wife will have great success with weight loss and your overall wellness.

This forum is amazing, people here truly care and are here to be supportive and give encouragement...we're all in this together. Read as as many posts as you can and post as often as you like.

I look forward to reading your posts and hearing your updates!
