Re: new to board, done atkins a million times
Welcome Shannon.
Just learn the rules and follow then and it should work for you. Sounds like you have a good motivation to keep doing it. Check out some of the before and after pictures on the board and you will see that it is very possible to get to goal with Atkins.
Wish you good luck on your journey.

With Atkins there is very little that you have to give up. Just stick to the plan. It is not all gonna come off overnight. I set a twelve month goal for my weight loss... BUT I understand that the Atkins plan is a LIFESTYLE.... a LIFELONG endeavour. I will lose it all in a year and maintain for a lifetime. Exercise, prepare your meals, drink water, and come here often. I feel that if I fall off the wagon I do not just let myself down, but I let everyone here down. I have got so many great ideas for meals from these fine folks that I do not miss anything (except pizza). Just my two cents. Good luck and Merry CHristmas!

Welcome aboard Sskennedy! Nice to have you with us.
It's great that you've chosen Atkins rather than have surgery. You won't regret it. You may have done Atkins many times before, but I'm hoping that the board will give you the support and inspiration to stick with it this time around. It's made the crucial difference to many!
Post lots, make friends, join challenges etc. It's all good and all helps!
Happy losing!

Re: new to board, done atkins a million times
Hi Shannon,
Congratulations on trying to lose weight one more time on your own rather than lapband. Because of health purposes myself, I too have decided to try Atkins. I've been here a few times years ago and got excited about the post of others losing so well. I tried it and quickly got discouraged and of course, I haven't lost a thing since then excpet lots of time and gained lots more weight in the process. I'm starting Atkins tomorrow morning. I wish you much success this time and greater health in the New Year.
