  • Hi to all

Hi Everyone I am a veteran Atkins'er who seriously fell off the wagon. Last year I got down to 70 kilos and ran a marathon. I then stopped running but continued to eat and eat and eat. I am now at 82.7 kilos (having reached 85 kilos) and in my 2nd week of induction. I am 43, Female, British but have lived most of my life in Corfu Greece. I am well into ketosis but the weight is not shifting as quickly as I would like it too, after all it's only a week till Christmas!!!! Is it possible to be in ketosis and still eat too much as that's the only thing I can think of. My downfall while on Atkins is nuts (when off atkins it's chocolate) I am exercising regularly but not as hard as I was when I was running, when I have lost some weight I plan to start running again but feel too heavy at the moment.
Good Luck to everyone and keep on Atkinsing

    Re: Hi to all

Nuts are not allowed in induction.
I think the reason is that Atkins wants us to eat veggies and learn how to control our cravings.

Nuts seem like an easy snack, but you need to remember two things. One they are not allowed for the first few rungs, and two they are terribly addictive and derail even the most disciplined of Atkineers.

You can indeed eat too much on Atkins. You should try to eat to satisfy your hunger, no more no less. Not as easy as it sounds for some. If you're not sure when you're really satisfied then take a break from eating for 20 mins or so and see if you're still hungry then. If you are, eat some more, if not, don't.

Kudos to you for your marathons and for your intention to start running again soon!
