  • Introduce myself Karen

Hello, My name is karen and I joined the board yesterday... I followed the Atkins diet about 10 years ago and got to about 125 lbs. However, I wasn't really starting at a huge weight either.. maybe 150 or 160. Well, 3 kids later (little one is only 3 months) and at the ripe old age now of 42... I am about 208. So, as you all know I just had a breakdown the other day and said "ENOUGH!" I keep buying bigger pants instead of dieting! On top of the fact I've been paying $90/month to the YMCA for a year and NEVER went, and I have access to a private trainer and gym at work.. really, talk about no excuses... So, I am excited about going back on and HOPE that it works as well the second time around as the first.. Also, I will have to re-learn this a bit.. 10 years is a LONG time... I don't even remember if you can eat carrots on induction! Anyway, if anyone would like to be a support person, let me know... once I get going I will be your biggest supporter! I live in NY (upstate).. 3 girls (7, 5 and newborn), married and just excited to get started...

Welcome aboard Karen! Good to have you with us.
Kudos to you for coming back to Atkins and taking control of your eating again. You won't regret it.
Sounds like you're very enthusiastic which is great. I'm sure the programme will work just as well for you this time around as last time. It just might be a little slower as our metabolisms tend to slow down a bit as the years go by. You'll still get to goal though, if you follow the plan properly.

Post often and tell us how you're getting along. Use the board for all it offers. It's a great support system!

      Happy losing!
(oh... btw... carrots aren't too far in the future! )
