  • Re-Inventing Kye

    Hello Everyone,

My name is Kye. I am 34 years old woman and currently live in West VA. Currently, I stand around 5 foot 6 inches and unfortunately (for me) I am 168 lbs. I am back in induction for the millionth time. I started Monday last week weighing in at 180 lbs. My goal is to get back to 125 lbs or to a point where my body fat is under control.

I was introduced to Atkins in Sept 2006 I weighed around 190 lbs and wore a size 18. I looked like Peter from family guy. No joke! When I was 25 I was only 120 lbs and in tip top shape. I was in a car accident that left me taking steroids and unable to work out. I became very depressed and ballooned up to 190lbs.

My godfather told me about Atkins and to be honest I had tried everything else..and NOTHING worked for me. I was thinking about getting surgery because my weight was just growing and I was on the fast track to be a diabetic.

I started Atkins Sept 19, 2006 and by Feb 2007 I was 140 lbs. I started to get cocky and began eating wrong again. The past year or so has been nothing but a yo yo for me.

After getting back up to 180 lbs I have accepted that I can never eat like I used to (when I was 19). I will always have to stay away from sugar and carbs like potatoes.

I am glad that my first week is over (it is usually the worst for me). I am going to start working out again. I have been too tired lately for that, but I have noticed my energy is returning so I am looking forward to walking again.

Well, that is a short review of me and my atkins tale (so far). I look forward to meeting everyone and sharing our stories together.

You can do it! Just take it one day at a time, one pound at a time. I too learned the hard way that carbs and I just don't mix. I now know about how many carbs my body can handle without causing problems. Good Luck!

      Hi CeeMarie!

Now that I have accepted that this isn't a short term deal...I think I will be more successful.

      Good luck to you too!
