    Hello All!

I am sooo excited about starting Atkins Induction! I am very motivated and ready to lose the weight! I am 22 yrs old and have been overweight all of my life. I crave french fries, cookies and many other carbs which tells me that I am a carb addict. I am ready to step into a new low carb life and am looking forward to my journey to health.

I am going to weigh myself in the morning and am not looking back!

    Re: New!

Welcome to ! You'll be smokin' hot for you July wedding (I'm guessing that is what your screen name means)

Do you have the book? We call it DANDR which is short for Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution, 2002. If you don't have a copy, please order a copy or check one out from your local library.

In the meantime check out Atkins Low Carb Dieting - FAQ's. Especially "What are the Rules of Induction?" and "What foods can be eaten on Induction?"

In addition to eating Induction-legal food be sure to drink lots of water and exercise.

Hang around the board for advice, support, and motivation.

    Good luck!

Yes I am getting married in July! That is what helped kick start my life change I do have the book and have read it! I do plan to exercise but was wondering if I should do it everyday during induction? Or will I be too weak? Will exercise help me lose faster?

      Thank you so much!

        Re: New!

Usually, people have A LOT of energy on Induction and Atkins in general. I suggest exercising as much as possible ~ it will definitely promote weight loss. With that said it is also important to take rest days and listen to you body to avoid injury. Personally I don't think it's unreasonable to walk everyday. However, I wouldn't suggest doing more strenuous things like running and lifting weights every single day. Others may have more to add.

I think someone on this site has said before that Atkins and weight loss help you look good in clothes, but Atkins and weight loss and exercise help you look good naked (tee hee)!

Welcome!!! I wish you nothing but success with this WOE (way of eating). It won't be easy at times, especially being a carb addict (cuz I was one also) but hang in there. You really have a serious motivator: to look stunning on your wedding day. Please keep us updated on your progress, and welcome again.
