  • 10 years after Atkins Round 1, I'm going for it

    Hi everyone,

In January of 1999 I found and began the Atkins diet, and lost about 50lbs in 6 months. I never made it into maintenance, though... I slowly gained all of the weight back, and tried a number of other approaches to lose weight, none of which worked as well as Atkins. I'm really happy to be back. I'm on day 2 of Induction (not counting the previous 2 days of low carbing with alcohol), and so far so good, though definitely experiencing the predictable headaches and flu-ish feelings, so am drinking lots and lots of water.

I have decided to recommit to Atkins during one of the most stressful times of my life... I'm going through a separation/divorce, and am writing my dissertation for my PhD. In many ways, 2009 is a fresh beginning for me, and I'm excited to reclaim control of my health and well-being.

I would love to have an accountability buddy this time around... back in 1999 I participated in a different bulletin board that doesn't exist anymore, and I found that kept me on track. Would anyone like to buddy up with me?

    Excited to be here!

    Cheers,
    Aurora
