  • Im new....first day!!woohoo!

    I'm fat...and so tired of this feeling. So today (after a lot of reading and learning) I'm starting Atkins. First day and loving the meat! I'm Debra,I'm 38, married with kids, and have 2 jobs. Being overweight makes it so hard to keep up with the lifestyle I have...So Im here to change. I think being here and maybe learning from you all I can stick with it!

    Welcome! I'm on my first day re-starting after a couple month hiatus... I'm currently in the worst part of the day for the munchies for me (7:30 in the evening). This is where I come when I feel like eating something I shouldn't.. it's a great distraction with a lot of supportive people here. I hope your first day went well and tomorrow goes smoothly as well... these first few days can be really tough. Good Luck!

      Hi Debra, and welcome! Check in her often (daily, if you can) 'cos the moral support helps SO much. Joining in the Challenges makes it more fun (the Water Challenge is a good one to start with ... who really drinks enough water? ). Keep a food diary (FitDay is a free online diary; you can record your exercise and a bunch of other stuff, too). AND ... take it one day at a time! Enjoy the journey

      You have kids AND two jobs?? Bless your heart!

        Welcome to the Debra.

        There is lots of great support and information and recipes on this board. If you want to know something, just ask and I'm sure someone will have the answer for you.

        Perhaps start a journal in the journal chats section. Its great for venting and just putting your thoughts down on paper.

        Also, take a photo of yourself and measurements, you will be glad you did once you reach goal!

          Hi I know what you mean! I have 4 kids and 2 jobs, and its is physically exausting all the time. I always feel better and have tns more energy while doing akins. Good luck to you!
