  • introducing myself :) redoing atkins post-vegetarianism!

    hello all,

i did atkins about 5 years ago and it worked really well...for a month. then i simply couldn't stand eating another omelet! since then, i have given up vegetarianism (for totally unrelated reasons) and a friend of mine recently went on atkins so i decided to give it another try. today is only day 2 but so far so good!

i am 26yo, 5'4, 175 lbs. that probably sounds horrible but i'm in pretty good shape bc i ride horses and work on a farm every day. i also work out w/a trainer twice a week and can run an 8 minute mile. all those yrs of hauling 40 lb bales of hay and 50 lb bags of grain, 35lb buckets of water, hefting big saddles onto big horses, not to mention the very physically demanding sport itself (i ride show jumping) has left me pretty muscular and strong. BUT i am also too fat! i know i need to lose weight and have needed to for a long time. my (riding) trainer has been getting on me a lot lately about losing weight so i can be a better rider. so we'll see how it goes.

i have 2 horses who are my world: liberty is 14 and socrates is 10.

      Welcome to the board...welcome home!

A+ on exercise! Can't wait to see the pictures of your beauties if you share them. We've got some horse lovers around here.

One thing you might keep in mind: don't ditch the veggies you've learned to love!

LC eating is another way of eating for life to continue a healthy living as well as weight loss. I bet you're doing great with both!

Hope you check out the forums for food ideas....there's more to life than omletes
