  • Hello!

Not good at introducing myself but wanted to at least say Hi. My name is Regina and I thought January 1st would be a good time to start. Not as a New Years resolution, I stopped making those years ago, but as an easy way to remember exactly when I started.

I did Atkins back in 2006 and did very well on it. With the constant "urging" of family, I stopped and started Weight Watchers . Not to put WW down, it is a very good program and I would recommend it to anyone, but, while I did continue to lose, I just did not feel as good while doing it. So here I am starting back with Atkins. Of course, like so many, I stopped dieting and regained everything before I decided to start again

This time is going to be much more difficult. I was not working before and had all the time in the world to plan and cook. Now I am working, so not as much time to plan and cook and I am out with the fast food tempations that seem to be on every corner.

LOL, that's funny. You're right, you'll remember exactly when you started!

If you're family "urges" you to go off Atkins again ask them if they'd be willing to read the book. Once they read it they'll see that ultimately it is a very healthy and balanced way of eating. WW works for some, but for some of us controlled carb eating is the best way of life for us.

I often cook, parse, and prepare A TON of food on Saturday or Sunday to eat for the week. That way I don't have to prepare food after a long day at work. So I suggest preparing at least a few days' worth of food on one of your days off. If you make larger batches you can also freeze portions when you get into a pinch.

Planning will help you succeed and save you in times where you'd otherwise be tempted.

You can do this! Best of luck to you...

        Hi Regina,

        Welcome back!

Don't listen to what your family or anyone else has to say when they urge you to eat a different way....they're not the ones who walk in your shoes each day you are. I find that when people do this to me, I often wonder what their motivation is....I don't know people's hearts, however, when there is strong resistance I have to question their motivation.

You hang in there and you'll be seeing and feeling the difference from eating this way in a short period of time!
