and I was almost reduced to tears. I really, really, want to stick to low carb this time around, it's the only thing that has ever worked for me...I started in 2005, lost 80lbs by 2006, and here, in 2009 I'm back up more than half of what I lost. Everytime I try to start back on low carb, I blow it, again and again...all the excuses are there: no time, too hard to include family, no support...it just feels so hard and its so much easier to drive through that drive through than come home and make a good and healthier for me meal. One little tiny piece of bread and its over from there. I want so much to get the weight back off and get down to a normal, healthy weight, I've been so discouraged, but after reading some of the posts here I feel a new determination and I'm going to try really hard this time.

Re: Saw a recent pic of myself
Welcome to
, chilee1!
You CAN do this. You CAN get the results you want. And you CAN look at pictures in the future (along the way and at goal) and smile rather than cry
.
A lot of us have been where you are. I have hopes for you that this is the last time you restart Atkins. (I have the same hope for myself
)
There are times I get overwhelmed because I'm tired and I don't want to cook or don't want to fit in exercise, but I keep reminding myself of my goal. I WANT SUCCESS so I want to do anything I can to make that happen.
Check out these links:
- Never ending induction recipes. There are a lot of ideas which you and your family will enjoy!
- Atkins Low Carb Dieting - FAQ's
- If you are NEW, READ THIS!
- What excuse do you have...
How badly do you want this? Think about it often to keep your eye on the prize!

Re: Saw a recent pic of myself
Welcome Chilee!! I know exactly what your going through, many and many times I could not go through with the weight I wanted to lose either or just not stick to it. I know you can do this, we are about the same weight as each other, and our goals are VERY VERY realistic for this year or rather, monthes. All I can say is: imagine yourself this summer.
And then you won't stop. We all will be right here next to you doing it too.

Glenda, that is an awesome recipe site - I love the menu ideas, and so many great recipes, I think this is going to be easier than I thought...I was dreading eating meat and eggs!! But there is so much variety I don't think I will be getting tired of these meals for a while...thank you so much!!

Re: Saw a recent pic of myself
Bender,
Thank you for the encouragement, it is so true that as soon as you start carb loading that it's so hard to get back out of it! I have been deluding (sp?) myself for so long that I had to be completely honest here...you have no idea how hard it was for me to post those full body pics! Yikes!

Thanks Amber, your weight loss is inspiration since, like you said, we are so close in weight...I look forward to watching your progress and thanks again for the support! Look out summer, here I come! (maybe I'll actually be able to wear shorts again!

Re: Saw a recent pic of myself
I know exactly how you feel. I saw pics of myself on a recent vacation and have since banned all picture taking of me, much to my fiance's dismay. I won't even set a date until i can stand to look at myself again...
Congratulations on trying to do it again, and i'm rooting for you (and me too =D). Congrats on the 80lb loss as well, that's really inspiring for a newbie like me... You can do it!! WE can do it!! Good luck!

Re: Saw a recent pic of myself
I tend to take the photographs rather than have the photographs taken of me. Sad hey!! Look forward to feeling confident enough to have some pics taken with my kids - 10th day of Atkins (started on 26th December), 4.5 kilos down now and feeling truly fantastic and so positive.
Can't wait to post some pretty pics.

Re: Saw a recent pic of myself
Whatailsus,
Thank you and I wish you the best of luck, too, you can do it, I know it. I have had much ease this time around particularly due to this website and the encouragement I have received from all. I hope to be photographed more often just so I can show my progress (cross your fingers for me, and I will do the same for you!!)
